All Microbiologique PCR test kits are available in two formats. The Screening Test is highly sensitive and is designed not to result in false negatives. This is achieved by multiplexing several genetic targets for each pathogen. The positive screening results can be reported as presumptive positive, Initial reactive, or any equivalent accepted terminology.
Intended Use
The Microbiologique E. coli (STEC) Test Kit is designed for use by laboratory technicians with proper aseptic techniques needed to perform DNA amplification-based assays in a biosafety level 2 laboratory environment.
Applicability
The E.coli (STEC) Microbiologique Test System (AOAC PTM 100701) provides a procedure for the preparation of test samples, and a protocol for the rapid detection of Shiga-toxin producing E. coli (STEC) in foods such as raw beef trim, raw ground beef, raw poultry, ready-to-eat (RTE) products (excluding STEC), and mixed leafy greens.
